The Truth About Modern Dating: Stop Overthinking Mixed Signals

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about dating, relationships, and human connections, it’s this: most situations aren’t actually complicated—we make them complicated.
I’ve heard people say things like, “It’s complicated,” countless times. And every time, I find myself thinking the same thing.
Is it really?
More often than not, the answer is no.
We spend so much time trying to decode texts, analyze silence, and create stories in our heads that we forget to look at what’s happening right in front of us.
Let’s see…
1. When Someone Stops Texting You
Have you ever been chatting with someone for days or even weeks?
The conversations are flowing. You’re excited every time your phone lights up. Then suddenly…
Nothing.
A day passes.
Then two.
Then three.
That’s usually the moment when our minds go into detective mode.
• Maybe they’re busy.
• Maybe something happened.
• Maybe they’re testing me.
• Maybe they’re scared because they like me.
• Maybe…
What if the answer is much simpler?
Maybe they just found someone else they enjoy talking to more.
That might sting, but it’s actually much easier to accept than spending weeks inventing theories that only create anxiety.
2. Not Everyone Will Like You
Sometimes you meet someone who seems amazing.
You have great conversations.
You go on a date.
You feel the chemistry.
Then… nothing.
No follow-up. No effort. No interest.
It doesn’t automatically mean something is wrong with you.
It simply means they don’t like you the way you hoped they would.
And that’s okay.
We can’t expect everyone to connect with us, just as we don’t connect with everyone we meet.
3. They’re Not Ready for a Relationship
Maybe you’ve been seeing someone for a month or two.
Everything seems to be moving forward.
Then, as the relationship starts becoming more serious, they pull away.
You hear the classic line:
“I’m not ready for a relationship”
Believe them!… They aren’t ready!
What are we trying to do? Convince them that they are ready? Is this the logical thing to do?
I know, it’s hard to appeal to reasoning, when we’re really into the “feelings” part of it all, but, still, we should try it. At least that’s what’s helpful, for our peace of mind…in the end.
What we could do instead?
We could turn our attention inwards and ask ourselves…”Why do I need this person in my life?”
Is it because I really like them? Are they matching my idea of a great partner? What about their behaviour makes me see them as being that great partner?
Is the answer “Yes”?
If not, what else can we find about ourselves? What are the real needs that we’re trying to meet in being with that person?
I could suggest some answers, but I’m sure you already got it…at least one of them. Right?😊
I hope this will help you take back your power and peace of mind!
LOVE U
