I find this subject interesting, so I’ve decided to take “the challenge” and respond to this question…
I believe I am good at showing and teaching empathy.
Maybe sometimes I don’t find the best words to express it to everyone, meaning …as an example…I am showing empathy to my children in front of other people and I don’t have the patience to explain it to everyone else🤷♀️.
And this is due to the fact that I’ve noticed too many people being somehow resistant when it comes to accepting that there are other ways of doing things or even trying to understand someone elses point of view.
I’ve tried coming from a place of wanting to share my thoughts and experiences regarding what it means to show empathy, but I came to the conclusion that there is a lot of work to do if you want other people to understand your perspective and, at the end, as long as someone doesn’t want to accept that there are other ways to….it’s useless for them and time consuming for me.
Nevertheless, am still practicing empathy, because I believe in our uniqueness and our right to choose how and what to feel and think, but mostly, I choose to do so, because I love seing any given situation from each ones perspective.
For me, showing empathy fills my heart with joy and warmth!
For the ones I show empathy to, I can see it in their eyes and in their demeanor how good it feels to have somebody that tries to understand your point of view too!
